Who enjoys speaking in public? Not everyone is comfortable and that's where I can help anyone who is going to speak make your wedding day flow.

It's not a task that everyone is confident carrying out, let along enjoy it. With a microphone thrust into your hand it's easy to see why people get nervous, all of a sudden you are the centre of attention. At least, that's the aim anyway.

As with most things in life, preparation is key to success. Knowing what you want to say is the first part of the battle. If it's a speech, having key points written down will provide you with useful reminders. As they say, proper planning and preparation prevents poor performance. Timing can be important as well, especially for comedy.

Using a microphone can be daunting for some people. But a microphone can be a useful too, they allow everyone in the room to hear you if setup and used properly. Although sometimes thatmaynot be a good thing if the jokes are that bad. Knowing how to use a microphone is a skill that most poepl think they have, but in reality lack. How many people do you hear banging on the microphone to see if it works? It's one of my pet hates as this can damage a microphone.

My microphones generally work best when held approx 5-10cm (2-4") from your mouth.

Probably one of the best tips I can think of would be to speak clearly, slowly and with confidence. Probably one of those things in life which is easier said than done for most people.
