Blog - My top 20 dancefloor fillers

Posted: Tuesday 12th January 2016 By: Andrew Broughton | Read Time = 3 mins Views: 7153

I’m as guilty of anyone as having my favourite selection when it comes to playing music to fill a dancefloor.

While this list isn’t based on any real science, and certainly not on official record sales, it’s a guide to show the type of music that I find popular on the dancefloors for the majority of events. In no particular order:

Kool & The Gang – Celebration

Wham – Wake Me Up

Frankie Vali & The Four Seasons – December ’63 (Oh What A Night)

Abba – Dancing Queen

Bee Gees – Stayin’ Alive

Van Morrison – Brown Eyed Girl

Bryan Adams – Summer Of ‘69

House Of Pain – Jump Around

Dexy’s Midnight Runners – Come On Eileen

Foundations – Build Me Up Buttercup

The Proclaimers – 500 Miles

The Killers – Mr Brightside

Kings Of Leon – Sex On Fire

The Beatles – Twist And Shout

Madness – Baggy Trousers

Mark Ronson feat Amy Winehouse - Valerie

Temptations - My Girl

Mark Ronson feat Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk

Pharrel Williams – Happy

PSY – Gangnam Style

Quick disclaimer – I don’t play all of those songs at all events! I use my knowledge and experience, combined with requests received, to play the music most appropriate for any event.

I’ll look at specific genres in future blogs, so check back soon!
