We're launching into Christmas season (if we haven't already started) and now it's time to start thinking about what music to play at Christmas parties.
For DJs playing at multiple Christmas parties the endless repeating of Christmas songs can zap the Christmas spirit quite quickly.
So the temptation is to drop the amount of Christmas music in favour of mixing it up with 'normal' music. However, as a DJ we have to remember that although this might be the fifth party this week, for most guests this will be their only one; they'll most likely be expecting plenty of Christmas songs.
As with most events, there isn't a right or wrong answer as each crowd is different and each night different. The right answer is playing what the crowd wants.
For me though, my list of Christmas favourites that I fall back on, whether as background music during the meal or during the party, are:
