Over the past couple of years I've had a look back at the first dances that I've played at the weddings over the last year.

2016 had a wide variety of choices, from some of the classics to modern greats too. It's always great to see the choices that each bridge & groom make for their important dance.

Here are the first dances I played during 2016:

• Dr Hook - When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman
• Ben Coleman, Jon Boden & Sam Sweeney - How Long Will I Love You
• Johnny Logan - Why Me
• Randy Newman - You've Got a Friend in Me
• Emmylou Harris & Mark Knopfler - This Is Us
• Robbie Williams - Angels
• Bryan Adams - Everything I Do
• John Legend - All Of Me
• Beyonce - Smash Into You
• Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud (three times)

2017 already has some interesting first dance choices, including Christina Perry, Muse, Luther Vandross and K-Ci & JoJo. And of course Ed Sheeran still as popular as ever.

If you're stuck for inspiration on what to choose for your first dance, have a look through my previous blogs on first dances.
