Blog - A wedding reception at Eastwell Manor near Ashford

In October I was back at Eastwell Manor for a wedding reception, with the party being located just down the path from the main manor house.
While the guests were enjoying their meal in the manor house itself, I was setting up down in the pavilion (also where the spa is located) so that everything was ready for them when they moved down.
It's a nice easy venue for me to access and carry my equipment in, so the setup didn't take too long. I was soon testing the speakers and the lights followed quickly behind, I even had time to play around with controlling the lights via my tablet (my latest geek mode).
At 9pm I was asked to announce the buffet, which is served upstairs, and was soon abandoned in the main room as everyone went to enjoy the food on offer. At least I don't mind having an empty dance floor for that reason!
It was nice to end the evening with a couple of sing along tunes as well, to ensure everyone left in high spirits with Sweet Caroline, New York New York and Hey Jude the three final songs chosen by the guests.
