It’s an obvious question to ask when you first speak with a DJ; how much will a wedding DJ cost you (in the UK)?
The truth is that there isn’t a definitive answer to how much a wedding DJ costs.
Prices can vary for each DJ and each event. The costs can also vary depending if you choose an extra services. The location and timings can also affect the price.
If you start choosing optional extras, these can add to the cost. There are quite a lot of additional services that some wedding DJs offer, including uplighting, confetti cannons and the walking on the clouds effect. (The latter makes for stunning photos as the dance floor is filled with a low lying fog that covers your feet).
The 2022 Bridebook 'UK Wedding Report' reveals that the average price paid by the 5,500 couples surveyed in 2021 for music was £1,007. Although it’s worth noting that we don’t get a breakdown of what services that include so that could well include large bands and additional options added to the fee.
If you’re looking for a wedding DJ, it’s worth factoring in the experience and the services offered to understand if you are getting what you want and value for money.
I recommend that instead of thinking about price, think about what it is that you want from your wedding DJ and then assess whether you are getting value for money. And if you're comparing quotes from different DJs, assess what you are getting for each.
