As we enter school prom season here are some tips for songs to play at school proms this summer that I've found work well.
For children's parties the music generally revolves around the top 40 and includes a few of the classics too.
For the younger children I find that in addition to the top 40, these high energy songs usually work well at a school disco:
- Pingfong - Baby Shark
- Walk The Moon - Shut Up And Dance
- Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk
- Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling
- Pharell Williams - Happy
- PSY - Gangnam Style
- Yolanda Be Cool & DCup - We No Speak Americano
- Silento - Watch Me (Whip Nae Nae)
- Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee ft Justin Bieber - Despacito
- Sam and the Womp - Bom Bom
- Armin Van Buuren - Blah Blah Blah
For the smaller ones, a few Disney classics also goes down well:
- Frozen - Let It Go
- Moana - We Know The Way
- Aladdin - A Whole New World
- Brave - Touch The Sky
- Tangled - When Will My Life Begin
And if wanting to carry on there are some great older tracks that I sometimes dust off for a
school prom:
- DJ Casper - Cha Cha Slide
- S Club 7 - Reach
- Lou Bega - Mambo No 5 (A Little Bit Of)
- Little Mix - Black Magic
- Taylor Swift - Shake It Off
- Justin Bieber - Sorry
- One Direction - Best Song Ever
- Katy Perry - Firework
- Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
- Avicii - Levels
- Flo Rida feat T-Pain - Low
- Reel 2 Reel - I Like To Move It
- Nigel & Marvin - Follow Da Leader
Obviously these lists could keep on going, I've tried to keep these lists short; Black Lace have released many tracks that still prove popular for children despite them being released in the 80s.
