If you're wondering when you should pay your wedding DJ, I'd suggest reading what the terms and conditions state.
Some DJs require payment in advance while others will accept payment on the night.
My booking forms make it clear when all payments are due so you can be rest assured that there's no confusion.
If you're paying on the night I always ask that this is done at the start of the night before it gets forgotten about at the end of the night.
If you want to pay by cash, I always advise putting it in a marked envelope ("DJ" is fine as it's rather self-explanatory) to ensure it doesn't get forgotten about. If you're at a venue with a safe, you could even ask them to look after it when you first arrive if they're happy to do that.
If you want to pay by bank transfer or cheque this needs to be done in advance to ensure the funds have cleared in time. Most bank transfers are usually very quick but cheques can easily take 1 or 2 weeks to clear.
And finally, it's always worth checking how much you need to pay - there's nothing worse than realising you don't have enough when it's too late. Don't be afraid to double check and ask the DJ if you're not sure.
